Newton Abbot indoor market is very hit or miss. Supposed to be open until 4 PM but most of the time everything is closed way before the doors close. I have countless times paid for parking to find the stall I needed shut or the place completely locked up before 4pm. I wonder why Amazon is winning and the high street dying! When the stalls are open there can be some good stuff to get and people friendly. But visiting for me is more often than not a let-down or inconvenience.

Newton abbot was I'm afraid; was a bit of a dump. In the market Square was empty. The lifts to the toilets were out of order due to being owned by Wilko which was bankrupt. The coppers and security guard who we asked did not suggest that there was a disabled toilet on the ground floor which we later discovered. Fortunately, Costa coffee saved the day with a decent cup of tea and a working toilet. Four coppers were patrolling the market Square presumably to control the hoardes of pre-pubescent school kids who are so rowdy (this is meant to be ironic) It was blowing a gale and rainy

A nice place for a wander around with cafes and stalls selling a wide variety of items from retro sweets, jigsaws, aprons, batteries etc .. it's a place to find that random item you really need but haven't been able to find elsewhere. While you're here though pick up some sweets you might remember from your childhood or as a present for an older member of the family who used to enjoy things like Pontefract cakes!

Popped into newton abbot Market cafe the one nearest the butchers, I ordered two bacon and sausage baps one with brown the other with red sauce, when they turned up there was no brown sauce and only a tiny bit of red in the other, after querying this I was told that the sauce was put on for the customer a bit strange I thought after bitting in to the bap all I can say is that the sausages were either precooked and old or the cheapest possible, all in all the worst I've ever tasted, total waste of money, would never recommend or go back

Easy access for wheelchairs. Interesting products and food stalls. There are several cafe areas fir a nice sit down. There is an excellent butchers buy the town-side entrance. Rear entrance backs on to the bus station.

This is a great little market and the people with stalls in there are so friendly and polite, I got some balls of wool in there really cheap and my niece bought loads of hair scrunchies for a £1 each. Afterwards we both paid a visit to the sweet stand, the lady working there was really friendly and kind, was very helpful with my niece. Would definitely go back there again, next time I'd like to eat in the cafe in there.
